MEMORY VERSE
Exodus 18:21
[21]Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:
BIBLE MEDITATION
Matthew 20:25-28 KJV
[25]But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
[26]But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
[27]And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
[28]Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
MESSAGE
Christian leadership is a crucial aspect of the Christian faith. It refers to the ability to lead and guide others in a manner that aligns with the principles of the Christian faith. The Bible provides guidance on what constitutes good Christian leadership, and it is essential to follow these principles when selecting individuals for leadership roles.
The quality of Christian leadership is characterised by humility, wisdom, and a servant heart. In Matthew 20:26-28, Jesus teaches that the greatest among us should be the servant of all. This means that Christian leaders should prioritise the needs of others above their own. They should lead by example, showing kindness and compassion to those they serve.
When it comes to choosing individuals for Christian leadership roles, the Bible provides guidance on the qualities to look for. In 1 Timothy 3:1-13, Paul provides a list of qualifications for overseers and deacons. These qualifications include being above reproach, being faithful to their spouse, being self-controlled, and having a good reputation.
Additionally, Proverbs 11:14 states that "Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counsellors, there is safety." This means that Christian leaders should seek the counsel of others when making important decisions. They should surround themselves with wise, godly individuals who can offer guidance and support.
In conclusion, Christian leadership is an essential aspect of the Christian faith. It is characterised by humility, wisdom, and a servant heart. When selecting individuals for leadership roles, it is essential to follow the principles outlined in the Bible. By doing so, we can ensure that our leaders are godly individuals who will lead with integrity and compassion.
