MEMORY VERSE

2 Timothy 2:21

[21]If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

BIBLE MEDITATION

2 Timothy 2:20-26

[20]But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

[21]If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

[22]Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

[23]But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.

[24]And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,

[25]In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

[26]And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

MESSAGE

Introduction:

As Christians, we often hear the term "vessel unto honour" being used in the Church. But what exactly does it mean? In simple terms, a vessel unto honour is a person who is devoted to serving God and living a life that glorifies Him. 2 Timothy 2:21, which says, "If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work."

Who are the people referred to as a vessel unto honour in the house of God?

The Bible refers to believers who have made a conscious decision to surrender their lives to God as vessels unto honour. These individuals are willing to do whatever it takes to serve God with all their hearts, minds and souls. They are ready to be used by God to accomplish His purposes on earth and to bring glory to His name.  2 Timothy 2:20, which says, "But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour."

What qualifies people to be used as a vessel unto honour?

Those who are willing to surrender their lives to God and live a life that is pleasing to Him are the ones who qualify to be used as vessels unto honour. They must be willing to submit themselves to God's will and allow Him to work in and through them. Romans 12:1, which says, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."

What is the reward for those who are used as vessels unto honour?

The Bible tells us that those who are used as vessels unto honour will receive a great reward. They will experience the joy of serving God and seeing His purposes fulfilled through them.

1 Corinthians 3:14-15, which says, "If any man's work abide which he hath built there upon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire."

In Conclusion, being a vessel unto honour is not an easy task, but it is a rewarding one. We must be willing to submit ourselves to God's will and allow Him to work in and through us. As we do so, we will experience the joy of serving God and seeing His purposes fulfilled through us. Let us strive to be vessels unto honour and bring glory to God's name. A sinner can not be used as a vessel unto Honour in the house of God, although if a sinner is found among the vessels, he will produce dishonest, malicious, corruptible services. Bow down your head, ask for the forgiveness of sin and rededicate your life once again for Jesus, in order to be a vessel unto honour.
